Earlier this month my husband and I took a trip up and then down the Northern California Coast to visit the redwoods. I’ve been in Yosemite National Park and have created numerous art pieces based on the redwoods in Mariposa Grove. So I was curious to see what we would find in Northern California and I wasn’t disappointed. The trees were gorgeous—huge, the forest textures were amazing and the forest’s themselves themselves—rich and lush. The weather up the coast can be moist and overcast as well as a little cool and the trees of course love the environment.
The photos I brought home are a mixture of all sorts of mostly forest textures. Since I am working on a body of works with metals the manipulated images I create from them will be brilliant to work with. Here are some travel pics from the Redwood National and State Park.
